Till den fina konsten att skapa amerikansk whiskey höjer vi detta glas av Assam-svart te som lagrats i ett fuktigt Westward Whiskey-fat, med berusande antydningar av kakao, konjakskörsbär och ingefära.

I’m not usually a tea person, but the brandied cherry and ginger notes come through so clearly after the whiskey-barrel finish—it’s like sipping a slow, warm dessert. The cacao lingers just enough to make the last drop feel indulgent.
The Assam black tea carries that wet barrel character beautifully, with the cacao and brandied cherry notes coming through on the finish. Made a double and it drank like a slow evening, not a quick sip.
I wasn’t sure how the whiskey barrel aging would come through in a tea, but the wet barrel finish gives it this rich, warm depth that pairs perfectly with the cacao and brandied cherry notes. It’s like a slow sipper in tea form, and the ginger keeps it from feeling too heavy.
