The traditional tea of the Japanese tea ceremony. Our matcha is made from tender green leaves known as Tencha harvested in early spring in Katsura, Gifu Prefecture. Brilliant green in color, matcha has a rich, slightly sweet vegetal flavor and aroma.
Whisked it up this morning and the color is exactly what you'd expect from a proper ceremony-grade powder—that brilliant green you don't get from grocery store stuff. The texture is so fine it dissolves almost instantly, no clumps at all.
First sip and I could practically feel the ceremony behind it—that early spring harvest from Gifu really comes through in the smooth, grassy depth without any bitterness. The powder is so fine it whisks up effortlessly, and the brilliant green shade makes my morning cup feel like a small ritual.
