A highly prized Chinese tea, this Pu-erh is fermented and aged for 3 years. Grown at around 5000 ft elevation in Feng Cheng, Yunnan, China, this tea produces a dark liquor with smooth and complex earthy flavor and sweet lingering finish.
The first steep hit me with that deep, earthy smoothness right away, and the dark liquor kept its rich character through several rounds. I can tell the 3-year aging and high elevation really do their job here.
The dark liquor is so smooth and layered—that three-year aging really rounds out the earthy notes without any harsh bite. Brewed up a pot this morning and the complexity kept me coming back for more.
