Grown on the farmer-owned Chirrapani Tea Estate, this is the inaugural tea of the newly founded Kumaon Tea Factory. Notes of limestone, sandalwood and candied lemon peel bring this rustic and delightful tea to life.
The limestone note is what surprised me most—it gives this tea a clean, mineral edge that feels genuinely rustic. The sandalwood shows up later, soft and warm, making each cup feel more layered than the last. Glad I grabbed this first harvest from Chirrapani.

That candied lemon peel really comes through in the finish, and the limestone mineral edge keeps it from being just another sweet cup. Brewed it up gongfu style and it held its character through several steeps, which surprised me for a first harvest. Glad I grabbed this LTO while it was around.
